PSMG Spring Meeting 2009
28/04/2009
Director of Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA)
Heather Simmonds
Heather chairs the Code of Practice Panel, which considers complaints submitted under the Code in the first instance, and is responsible for the overall running of the organisation. Heather also works with IFPMA and EFPIA in relation to their codes of practice.
The session will cover breeches and infringements in the field of ABPI and include guidelines and case studies.
Personal Taxation
Tim Smith
Tim's session will provide an overview of the tax issues facing sales managers and directors. This will include the taxation of earnings, bonuses, expense payments and benefits, claim deductions for allowable expenses and other relevant tax issues.
Employment Law
Barringtons
In times of relative economic certainty and prosperity, governments are keen to dabble with employment protection legislation giving enhanced rights to individuals. Unfortunately, those are the same rights which hinder progress in the bad times making employers uneconomic and stifle growth. Add to this equation the meddling from Europe and you have a perfect storm of labour dysfunction - and the need to change the law.
- Proposed new law and how to plan for it - talk and discussion
- Current practice and how to ensure we get it right - workshops and activities
- Members' surgery - your opportunity to raise those nagging questions and everyday problems - question and answer format
